【摘要】:Knowledgeoftheaveragefiberlengthandthedistributionoffibersisofprimaryimportancetousersoftopinfurtherprocessing.Acceptancespecificationsforthefiberlengthandlengthdistributionmaybeestablishedbytheuserbasedonthetypeofyarn-makingequipmentemployedandthedesiredenduses.TestMethodD519fortestingwooltopforfiberlengthisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentssincethemethodhasbeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforacceptancetestingandthecurrentestimatesofthebetween-laboratoryprecisionsareacceptable.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativetestingtodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogenousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofthetypematerialinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenbeassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent''st-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfoundeitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandsuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.
